The UPSC EPFO recruitment test was scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, May 9, 2021. The Commission will announce new date in due course.
After reviewing the current Covid-19 situation in a special meeting held today the UPSC has decided to postpone the Recruitment Test.
The Commission considered rapidly changing circumstances, health considerations, lockdown restrictions including social distancing norms and aggravating situation enforced due to the pandemic. The Commission has decided that it will not be possible to conduct examinations and interviews for the present.
Meanwhile, the Personality Tests (Interviews) of the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2020 (scheduled from April 20-23, 2021); the Civil Services Examination, 2020 (scheduled from April 26, 2021 to June 18, 2021) and the Recruitment Tests are also deferred till further notice.
The dates for the Interviews and Recruitment Test, where candidates and advisers are required to travel from all parts of the country, will be reviewed from time to time.
SYLLABUS OF THE TEST
I. SCHEME OF THE TEST:
(a) The test will be of two hours duration.
(b) All Questions will carry equal marks.
(c) The test will be an objective type with multiple choices of answers.
(d) The medium of the test will be both Hindi and English.
(e) The Test will carry a maximum of 300 marks.
(f) There will be penalty for wrong answer. Every wrong answer will carry a deduction of one-third of the marks assigned to that question. If no answer is marked for a question, there will be no penalty for that question.
II. SYLLABUS OF THE TEST:
(a) General English – To evaluate candidate’s understanding of English language and workman – like use of words
(b) Indian Freedom Struggle
(c) Current Events and Developmental Issues
(d) Indian Polity and Economy
(e) General Accounting Principles
(f) Industrial Relations and Labour Laws
(g) General Science & Knowledge of Computer Applications
(h) General Mental Ability & Quantitative Aptitude
(i) Social Security in India
WEIGHTAGE OF THE TEST: Recruitment Test ( RT) and Interview carry 75:25 weightage for those candidates shortlisted based on Recruitment Test ( RT) and qualify in the Interview.
Shortlisted Candidates would be asked to submit the documents in support of their claim for the posts. Their documents will be scrutinized and those Candidates who fulfil all the eligibility conditions of the posts shall be called for interview.
